Inclusive Education
This area supports students to develop their language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking and includes a variety of purposed such as study, vocation, interpersonal communication and leisure. The Inclusive Education Team supports the academic and social development of students with a disability, learning difficulty or mental health condition within the school community from Year 7 to Year 12. Staff also support students who access the Margaret More Centre program.
The Inclusive Education Leader liaises with teaching staff to assist in identifying learning needs, defining and documenting appropriate adjustments an modifications and implementing evidence based literacy and numeracy interventions. Depending on individual need, the Ignatius Centre Team also provide in-class support, small group support, 1:1 support and lunch club. Adjustments, support, agency involvement and individual learning goals are documented via the Personalised Plan for Learning (PPL). This plan is reviewed each Semester in collaboration with the student and their family.
